Seeing Dead Bodies

Now that title should get your attention...That's exactly what I did on my personal day.

I could not wait for the exhibit "Bodies" to arrive in Omaha. I learned about this traveling exhibit a few years ago when it was showing in Kansas City and wanted to check it out, but didn't find the time to do so. When I heard that it would be within an hour from my home, I just had to go. This isn't something that I initially thought I'd want to bring my own kids along to see, so I had to take a personal day from work. This way the kids would be at school and daycare, while and Andy and I got a day to ourselves. It was truly a fascinating experience and now I'm wishing Tyler and Madison would have gone along. However, at $22 for an adult and $16 for a child's admission, I don't see us returning anytime too soon.
After our visit of seeing deceased people from China, we decided to keep with the "theme" and ate at P.F. Chang's for lunch. Yum!

Actually, we didn't plan it that way, but Andy brought it to my attention after the fact, which I thought was humorous. Incase you are wondering where they get these actual bodies, they are donated to science if no one comes forth in China to claim them. That seems like a sensible way to keep the tax payers from having to foot the bill for the burial.
Since we were eating by the Westroads Mall, I decided to stop in for a quick visit with my brother who works there. As you can see, he was thrilled to have his photo taken. He wanted to know what I'd want the photo for...blogging, of course!
Then it was off to my favorite place....Archiver's. I have decided that when I die, I want my body to be preserved (acid-free, of course) and placed at Archiver's. Really, there is no happier place on earth!!

Nothing like a few lettuce wraps after looking at bodies.
The best is the Double Pan Fried Noodles. They might be my favorite thing in the world. (Besides my wife and kids, but it is close.)

I went to the Body World when it was here in SLC. It was fascinating! Our bodies weren't from China though. We ended up eating at Paradise Cafe! Does that have something to do with the dead? Maybe so!
My hubs name is Andy too.

Never have eaten there before, heard of it, but I don't think we have one close by. Which is weird since we have everything in this area.
Bodies was here a couple of years ago and we didn't go because of the cost. From the looks of the price you paid, it's still expensive!

That show came by our area a while ago. I wanted to go but I was kinda terrified. I wasn't sure what to expect. But if I get the chance, I'm totally going to go next time!

Love your blog! -Lindz

Ooooh, I took the kids to "Body Works" or "Body Worlds" when I took them on our Chicago trip about 5 years ago....it was incredibly fascinating and huge! Really expensive, but very worthwhile! Hopefully, the authentic and nasty charcoal-looking lungs will turn them off from smoking for their entire lives :-) Glad to hear you thought it was fascinating, too. I don't recall being too hungry, after seeing that stuff, though!

And I'm totally there with you on Archivers. I simply adore that store, and just get a warm fuzzy feeling inside the minute I walk through their doors.
